Another part of our strategic management discussion is learning the competitive analysis. Our group presentation was still aligned on our previous topics which were between Globe and Smart Telecommunication.
We compared each brand based on their Call and Text, Data and Broadband Promos, Mobile Plan, Application and Contents, Movies and Music Applications, Big Data, Cellular Sites, Speed, Office Data Centers, Partnership and other Services.
Along with it, we also shared our group analysis and Porter’s Generic Strategy between those brands.
I learned that, mergers between firms can be an effective way of developing competitive advantage, optimizing benefits of complementary strengths and taking advantage of economies of scale and scope. Thus, this activity can improve efficiency to the benefit of consumers and the community in general.
Competitive analysis can provide aspiring entrepreneurs with a clearer understanding of the marketplace conditions in an industry they are considering breaking into, or help established businesses refine their strategic directions. Understanding the advantages of competitive analysis in strategic planning can take strategic plans to the next level in terms of, Market Gaps, Product Development, Market Trends and Marketing.
Before we go through on this analysis, each group had to re-analyze each output provided since it is needed to be specific for each topic to be discussed. This help us to learn more what are the things should be and not should be include on our group presentation to be able to get what strategy in the porters generic strategy those firms/topics we chose.
